Zarof Ricar Has Recorded In Salemba

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO RI) has executed former Supreme Court (MA) official Zarof Ricar in a bribery case related to Ronald Tannur's acquittal. Zarof was sent to the Salemba Prison (Lapas) in Central Jakarta.

It is known that the Supreme Court has strengthened the decision of the DKI Jakarta High Court, which previously increased Zarof Ricar's sentence to 18 years in prison.

The panel of appellate judges confirmed that Zarof had been proven guilty of corruption, namely giving or promising something to the judge with the intention of influencing the verdict, and committing a crime of accepting gratuities.

Therefore, Zarof was still found guilty of violating Article 6 paragraph (1) letter a and Article 12 B in conjunction with Article 15 jo. Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001.

Previously, the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court sentenced Zarof to 16 years in prison.

Despite demiikian, related to the criminal fine, the panel of judges at the DKI Jakarta High Court still charged the same amount as the decision of the Jakarta Corruption Court Judges, namely Rp1 billion, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

This includes Rp915 billion and 51 kilograms of gold confiscated from Zarof, which was declared still confiscated for the state.

In this case, Zarof was charged with committing an evil conspiracy in the form of assistance to give or promise judges something, namely money worth IDR 5 billion.

The alleged conspiracy was carried out with legal adviser Ronald Tannur, Lisa Rachmat, with the aim of bribing Supreme Court Judge Soesilo, who is chairman of the panel in the continuation of Ronald Tannur's case at the cassation level in 2024.

In addition, Zarof was charged with receiving gratuities worth Rp915 billion and 51 kilograms of gold during his tenure in the Supreme Court to assist in case management in 2012'2022.
