The Padel Racket Thief In South Jakarta Was Arrested, Had Not Admitted To The Police
JAKARTA - A teenage boy who stole a pallet racket at the Smash Padel field, Simatupang, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, has been arrested by the police. The perpetrator was arrested on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Pasar Minggu Police, Kompol Anggiat Sinambela. He said the perpetrators were secured by the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the South Jakarta Metro Police (Jaksel).
"Yesterday (Arrested), according to the information, it was handled by the South Jakarta Police Satreskrim," he told VOI, Thursday, December 11, 2025.
Anggiat explained, based on information from the management of the Smash Padel field, the perpetrator pretended to be a padel player.
"He seemed to be a player, then after the opportunity, maybe the one who was playing was tired, put his racket, taken with him," he said.

Sinambela also revealed that the perpetrators had committed several thefts in different padel fields.
"The information has been three times but moved around, in Central Jakarta, East Jakarta and South Jakarta," he said.
In the video received by VOI, the perpetrator wearing the uniform of one of the universities did not confess. However, after being pressured by the police, the perpetrator finally confessed.
Previously, a video circulated on social media (medsos) Instagram of a man in black stealing a Padel racket, on the Smash Padel field, Simatupang, South Jakarta.
In the video, the perpetrator carried out the action alone, managed to steal a palel racket whose price was said to have reached Rp. 7 million. For this incident, the victim then reported to the police.
