The Room For Women's Movements Is Getting Wider, Mothers Can Exercise Without Limits

JAKARTA - In various cities, more and more women choose to move with the community. For example, by making running sports a way of taking care of themselves, while at the same time carrying out their role as workers, women, and mothers.

This picture can be seen clearly in the She Runs The World event which took place again this year. One of the moments that attracted attention was the presence of hundreds of mothers running while pushing astroller containing their children.

This view is a symbol if the sport or active movement for women is now more inclusive and can be done without having to leave domestic responsibility.

This special women event was attended by around 1,200 participants from various backgrounds. They come from the community, the world of work, to housewives who want to enjoy a safe space to move.

"We see so many mothers present with their children this year really touch my heart. This shows that women's sports spaces are now increasingly inclusive that being a mother and staying active are not two things that cancel each other," said Nadya Rosmalina, Founder & Creative Director of Heylocal in a statement to VOI.

So that mothers can still enjoy the moment of their active move, on this agenda there is also a Nursery Room so that mothers can keep running while meeting the needs of their little ones. Meanwhile, the women's MSME area is also opened free of charge, providing space for local business actors to introduce their work.

Furthermore, Nadya revealed that the presence of mothers and children is a touching moment, because it shows that women are now increasingly free to be active without having to leave their roles in the family.

The high enthusiasm of participants made this activity planned to be present in several other big cities so that more and more women get space to start moving and build healthy habits.

This year, participants were also invited to show solidarity through the Thousand Hearts for Sumatra campaign as support for flood victims in Sumatra, marked by black ribbons worn while running.

"Seeing thousands of women running together, it is clear that Indonesian women are increasingly confident and dare to take their own space in the world of sports. The phenomenon of stretchler moms is proof that physical activity can be enjoyed by anyone, including mothers, in a safe and supportive atmosphere," he concluded.
