Bareskrim Reveals Vape Lab Contains Malaysian Network Etomade In Indonesia In Medan
JAKARTA - The Directorate of Drug Crimes (Ditipidnarkoba) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police revealed that the dark laboratory for making vape liquids contains an ethodidate connected to the Malaysia 'Indonesia network in Medan, North Sumatra. The disclosure was made on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, on Jalan HM Joni, Teladan Baru Village, Medan Kota District.
"Candestine disclosure of a narcotics lab in the form of a vape containing an ethodite of the Malaysian 'Indonesia' network in the North Sumatra region," said the Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim, Brigadier General Pol Eko Hadi Santoso, in a written statement, Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Eko explained that this case stems from the findings of Customs and Excise at Soekarno-Hatta Airport regarding the package from Skudai, Malaysia, which contains two bottles of liquid containing an ethodidate weighing a total of 2.5 kilograms.
"On December 3, 2025, it was found that there was a package shipment from Malaysia (Skudai) to Medan City which contained a liquid containing an ethodite through a FedEx delivery service in the Soetta Airport area, Banten," he said.
The police then made controlled deliveries with the RPX delivery service. However, the address of the recipient had changed to Warkop Agam Campus on Jalan HM Joni.
The next team headed to a new location. From the results of these activities, it was found that the recipient of the package with the initials NL, who was the person whose data was used to receive the package, "he said.

"So the team carried out development and arrest of the owner of the package in the name of MR, when taking the package from NL," continued Eko.
The development continues to the suspect's rented house on Jalan Raya Medan Tenggara, Medan Denai, where the police found various materials and equipment that were allegedly used to produce vape liquids containing etomydates.
The evidence confiscated included 2,500 cartridge pods, 2,500 atomizers, flavour liquids of more than 4 kilograms, 1,700 grams of ethodite liquid, digital scales, thermometers, syringes, and cooking utensils.
"Regarding evidence in the form of 1,700 grams of ethodidate liquid and 4,000 grams of flavour (mixed) liquid, if processed it produces a total weight of 5,730 grams," he explained.
During the initial examination, said Eko, the suspect admitted that he received production material from a person named Ibrahim who lives in Malaysia and offered a job to make vape liquid with a wage system.
RM's cousin introduced her friend, IB, who lives in Malaysia because she was married and settled in the country, "said Eko.
"After the introduction, IB offered RM a job to make vape liquid, and the suspect received the job with a salary of Rp. 10,000 per cartridge," he continued.
Eko emphasized that his party brought the suspect along with evidence to the office of the Sub-Directorate IV of the Narcotics Directorate of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, as well as to analyze the path of information technology related to the origin of the goods.
"It is estimated that 2,865 lives can be saved due to the disclosure of the drug trafficking," he explained.
To account for his actions, RM was charged with Article 117 paragraph (2), Article 118 paragraph (2), and Article 119 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
