Google Expands Gemini For Home Initial Access To More Users
JAKARTA Gemini is available at more Google Home through the Gemini for Home program. This chatbot expansion comes about a month after Google started initial access in beta or testing.
Although there are more users who have access to this Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant, this expansion is still in the beta stage. Currently, there are no features that have been finalized and there may be obstacles when using the chatbot.
At least, this beta expansion shows that Google is getting more mature in expanding the presence of its chatbot. Users who have signed up for Gemini for Home's initial access may also receive app notifications in the near future.
The notification will tell them that Gemini for Home is ready to be configured. The configuration process will be very simple, starting with a brief introduction to Gemini for Home's capabilities and limitations.
SEE ALSO:
For now, one of the main limits is language. Gemini can only respond in English on Google Home. However, Google has added an important feature to Gemini for Home, which is a filter for guests.
By using this feature, users can limit how Gemini responds to unrecognized guests, including allowing or disabling guest access to video logs. Users will also get a cross-device conversation feature.
This feature is very interesting because users can continue conversations in different rooms. However, each device still needs to be activated with the words 'Hi, Google'. Once Gemini is fully present at Google's smart home, Google Assistant will be completely removed.
