International Disability Day 2025: PGN Supports Empowerment And MSME Programs For Persons With Disabilities
JAKARTA - As part of the company's commitment to social responsibility, the State Gas Company Tbk (PGN) as Pertamina Gas Subholding together with Indonesia's Disability Institution (INDISI), held a humanitarian action to commemorate the 2025 International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The activity was carried out in the Cicendo State SLB environment, Bandung.
This activity is carried out not only focusing on distributing aid, but also ensuring that communities with disabilities have access to business opportunities in a sustainable manner. This is in line with PGN's commitment to encourage economic inclusion, especially through empowerment and increased independence of persons with disabilities.
The assistance provided includes hundreds of food packages to meet basic daily needs, as well as cash assistance for MSME actors with disabilities as a business capital stimulus. This support is expected to strengthen productivity, increase business capacity, and create income stability for beneficiaries.
"We fully support today's initiative, because through this activity we hope that people with disabilities can get social support as well as opportunities to develop in economic activities," said PGN's Division Head Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Krisdyan Widagdo Adhi, Sunday, December 7.
At the event held at the Nurul Ilmi SLB Cicendo Mosque, there were five assisted MSME actors who received assistance, including handicraft, culinary, and service businesses. The selection of recipients is carried out based on direct impact on the community, as well as potential business sustainability in the future.
In addition to distributing aid, this activity is also filled with presentations from MSME actors. They show off superior products in front of invited guests, educational figures, and related stakeholders as an effort to expand promotions and introduce the work of people with disabilities to the public.
PGN emphasized that this activity is in line with the company's strategy in implementing an inclusion-based CSR program, which reaches marginalized groups including persons with disabilities. The hope is that this program can have a long-term impact, not just temporary assistance.
Through collaboration with INDISI and the school, PGN hopes that beneficiaries will not only receive material assistance, but also motivation to be empowered independently. Thus, PGN's contribution is not only philanthropic, but part of the company's social responsibility to encourage inclusion and sustainability.
