Kuala Simpang Aceh Prison Still Flooded And Mud
JAKARTA - The Director General of Corrections, Mashudi visited 7 Correctional Institutions (Lapas) and State Detention Centers (Rutan) after the flood disaster in the Aceh region.
"The impact of the damage is light to heavy," said Mashudi in a statement received by VOI, Sunday, December 7, 2025.
The seven prisons and detention centers in Aceh visited were Women's Sigli Prison, Lhoksemawe Prison, Lhoksukon Prison, Langsa Prison, Langsa Narcotics Prison, Kuala Simpang Prison and Singkil Prison.
"Kuala Simpang prison looks the worst. Floods of water and mud are still inundating so that office activities are still paralyzed," he said.
However, according to him, there are still other prisons that cannot be accessed because they are still isolated. Access to the bridge and the road to the prison is still cut off.

Furthermore, Mashudi said that the review was carried out to coordinate regarding the recovery of further services and mitigation so that the operations of the prison, detention center, Father and LPKA UPT would continue to run optimally and prevent further risks.
"To ensure the safety of officers and inmates, smooth operations and emergency handling are carried out according to procedures," he said.
Mashudi said the need for urgency infrastructure, including generators, emergency lights, drinking utensils, water pumps and flashlights and steamers.
His arrival at the location was direct to see and analyze so that he could quickly follow up on the recovery of UPT Penitentiarys affected by the flood.
