Tanah Abang Thugs In Kebon Kacang, Peras Travel Driver Threatens To Break Glass

JAKARTA - S (32) a travel driver became a victim of extortion by Tanah Abang thugs while crossing Jalan Kebon Kacang 9, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

The victim was extorted Rp. 100,000 by two thugs guarding Jalan Kebon Kacang 9, Tanah Abang.

Because the victim only had Rp. 5,000, the perpetrator refused and threatened to break the victim's car window before leaving the location.

The victim then reported the incident to call center 110. The joint team of the Central Jakarta Metro Police and the Tanah Abang Metro Police who received the victim's report immediately checked the scene.

From the results of the search, the police managed to arrest one perpetrator with the initials DH alias A (30) who asked the victim for Rp100 thousand.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said his party immediately followed up.

"One perpetrator has been arrested and another perpetrator is still being searched," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Monday, December 1.

Currently, the perpetrators are still being prosecuted at the Tanah Abang Police Headquarters to account for their actions.

"We want the public to feel safe and confident that every report that comes in will be followed up quickly. The courage of the reporting residents is the key to creating a safe environment," he said.

As a result of his actions, the perpetrator with the initials DH was charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code regarding extortion, with a maximum imprisonment of 9 years.
