Logistics Warehouse On 2nd Floor Of Pengayoman Hospital Cipinang Burns, 28 Prisoners Evacuated
JAKARTA - Pengayoman Hospital or Cipinang Penitentiary, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, caught fire on Monday, December 1, 2025, morning.
The Coordinator of Public Relations and Protocol of the Directorate General of Corrections, Rika Aprianti, confirmed the incident.
"There were 28 patients who were there and have been evacuated," said Rika when confirmed.
Rika said the fire at Pengayoman Hospital occurred at around 07.10 WIB. The fire burned one of the rooms on the 2nd floor of the prison-specific hospital or the inmate.
"The fire on the 2nd floor of the Cipinang Penitentiary in one of the warehouses. The logistics warehouse or one of the storage equipment for cleaning and patient beds," he said.

The flames and black smoke that had grown have been extinguished by 7 units of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat fire department.
"The fire was resolved at 07.40 WIB. With the help of the firefighters, 7 firefighters and 2 ambulances from the fire department as well," he said.
There were no injuries and fatalities as a result of the fire incident. Currently, Gulkarmat officers are still cooling down the fire site.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is still under investigation by related parties.
