MAKI Sues KPK For Not Calling Bobby Nasution In Case Of Alleged Corruption In Road Projects In North Sumatra

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) has sued the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), because it has not yet summoned the Governor of North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Bobby Nasution, regarding the alleged corruption case of a road project in North Sumatra.

MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman, said that his party had registered the pretrial lawsuit with the South Jakarta Corruption Court (PN), with case number 157 / Pid.Pra / 2025 / JKT.SLTN.

"MAKI has registered a pretrial lawsuit against the KPK over the polemic that North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has not yet summoned at the Corruption Court or at the KPK in the alleged corruption case of a road project in North Sumatra by Topan Ginding," he said in a written statement Friday, November 28, 2025.

Boyamin said that another point in the lawsuit was suspected of losing Rp2.8 billion in money from the Topan Ginting indictment. In fact, said Boyamin during the arrest operation (OTT), the money was found at Topan Ginting's house.

Then, still in the statement made by Boyamin, in the second point, the KPK is considered not to have carried out legal action against the Chancellor of the University of North Sumatra (USU), Muryanto Amin, who was absent twice from the investigator's summons.

"If you've been summoned twice and left, you should have brought a warrant. But it wasn't done," he explained.

He stressed that the lawsuit filed was not to complicate the situation, but to ensure that all parties were treated equally before the law.

"This lawsuit is to force the KPK to summon Bobby Nasution and Muryanto Amin, as well as explain the existence of the Rp2.8 billion money that was confiscated," he concluded.

The inaugural trial will be held on December 5, 2025.

It is known, Typhoon Ginting, the former Head of PUPR North Sumatra, who previously also served in the Medan City Government under Bobby Nasution.

This case is related to allegations of bribery in road construction and preservation projects within the North Sumatra PUPR Office and the North Sumatra Region I PJN Satker, including road projects in South Tapanuli.

Although Bobby Nasution has not been named a suspect, his name continues to appear in trials and public demands for him to be examined as a witness.
