South Jakarta Police Chief Ready To Be Examined By Propam Regarding The Self-Defense Action Of Stepfather Alvaro
South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipali said all officials and members related to the handling of the suspect Alex Iskandar (49), Alvaro's stepfather, would be called Propam, including himself.
As is known, Alex is the stepfather of Alvaro Kiano Nugroho (6), a boy who has been reported missing since March 2025, who was found dead on the edge of the Cilalay river, Tenjo, Bogor, West Java, on November 23, 2025. Alex died in the South Jakarta Police counseling room after an examination was carried out.
Propam will check everything related. It's a process, and I'm sure (my own) will definitely be investigated," said Nicolas, at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Thursday, November 27, 2025.
Nicolas emphasized that the internal examination was fully under the authority of Bidpropam, including determining whether there was an element of negligence in the supervision of the suspect.
"Please ask (who has been examined), to the Propam Polda Metro Jaya," he said.
Furthermore, Nicolas explained, the suspect Alex was initially examined late at night and his status has been named a suspect, so investigators decided to temporarily place him in the counseling room to rest.
"If you want to put it in a detention room, you have to go through an SOP. There must be a health check first. The examination is until two in the morning, finally the investigator rests the person concerned in the counseling room, on the sofa," he said.

In fact, at around 06.00 WIB, investigators again served the request of the suspect who wanted to go to the toilet.
However, a few hours later, a witness found the suspect hanging himself. CCTV footage of the investigation room, said Nicolas, showed the suicide.
"CCTV in the investigation room also exists, showing that the person concerned committed suicide. Hanging himself," he concluded.
Previously, Alex had given information to the police regarding the motive for the kidnapping that led to the murder.
Based on the victim's family, Alex is suspected of holding a personal grudge against Alvaro's mother, although so far he has been known to be close and behaved well in front of his family.
Alvaro's grandfather, Tugimin, revealed that Alex even pretended to look for his grandson when the boy was reported missing.
"Even though he was examined, he didn't admit it at all, he even looked for it, took me to the police station," said Tugimin.
