Motorcycle Search For Victim Reveals Perpetrator Of Headless Murder In Tangerang

JAKARTA - Police arrested SA (30), the alleged perpetrator of the murder of a headless corpse found in the bushes of a banana plantation in Bunder Village, Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The arrest of the perpetrator was based on the search for the victim's motorbike.

The victim is known as Danu Warta Saputra (20). His body was found wrapped in sacks and unidentified. The SA suspect was arrested at his home in Lampung on Monday, November 24, 2025

Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Andi Muhammad Indra Waspada Amirullah said that initially the condition of the victim's body that had decayed made the identification process require extra efforts.

However, after the identity of the victim was discovered, investigators actually traced the whereabouts of the victim's motorbike which was also missing.

"The victim's motorbike was later found in the Kemiling area, Bandar Lampung, on Wednesday 19 November 2025," Andi said in a written statement, Wednesday 27 November 2025

Andi said, as a result of the investigation, the motorbike had changed hands through six people, namely AR, L, H, RS, RH, and E.

"They have been secured for further investigation, including investigating the criminal element of motor vehicle theft," he said

"The series of motor displacements finally led to the main suspect in the murder, SA," he continued

Furthermore, Indra explained the chronology of the murder incident. He said the suspect slit the victim's throat with a kitchen knife while the victim was asleep, then smothered the victim's face with a pillow.

"Based on the investigation, the murder occurred on Friday, November 14 at around 19.30 in the victim's rented house in Bunut Village, Pasir Jaya Village, Cikupa," explained Indra.

After killing, the suspect wrapped the victim's body in white sacks and black plastic. Then throw a knife and pillow to the garbage dump in the Pasar Kemis area.

In fact, the suspect also threw the victim's cellphone and wallet into a water channel in the Sukapeace industrial area, Cikupa, to trick the police.

"On Saturday, around half past 3 in the morning, the suspect dumped the victim's body at the location of the discovery using the victim's motorbike," he said

"As a result, the victim's motorbike was sold by the suspect to a person with the initials A for Rp. 5.3 million. The money from the sale of the victim's motorbike was used by the suspect to return to Lampung," he continued.

To the police, the suspect admitted that he was desperate to commit murder because he was hurt because he was bullied and abused by the victim when the suspect asked the victim for a debt of Rp. 500 thousand.

The evidence that was secured from the case included 1 unit of the victim's motorbike, victim's clothes, ropes, sacks, plastics, pillows, and Rp1,300,000 in cash.

To account for his actions, the suspect SA was charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison in conjunction with Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning premeditated murder with the threat of death penalty, life imprisonment, or a maximum imprisonment of 20 years.
