Toyota Fortuner Driver Dies After Crashing A Boks And Collising A Cyclist In Kembangan

JAKARTA - JDS (35), a Toyota Fortuner driver with the number B 2612 BJC, died after crashing into a Hino box car with the number B 9281 SCM driven by Endang on Jalan Meruya Ilir West, near Bengkel Forceum, Kembangan District, West Jakarta, Monday night, November 24, 2025.

"The incident began when the Toyota Fortuner, which was driven by a man from Tangerang City, drove on Jalan Meruya Ilir to the East towards the West," said Head of the West Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit Gakkum, AKP Joko Siswanto when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

It was explained that at that time the Fortuner driver grazed a cyclist named Rochmat. Instead of stopping, the Fortuner driver continued to go fast until he finally hit Hino's parked box car.

The violent clashes were inevitable which resulted in the Fortuner driver with the initials JDS suffered bruises on the head and died at the scene.

The incident had provoked a crowd of residents and other passing motorists.

Furthermore, residents reported the accident to the police. The body of the Fortuner driver was then evacuated to the Kembangan Hospital and referred to the Tangerang District Hospital.

"Meanwhile, cyclists suffered bruises on their legs," he said.

The Toyota Fortuner car, driver's driver's license, initials JDS, bicycles and box cars, was then secured as evidence of an accident at the West Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit.

"The cause of the accident is still being investigated," he said.
