Smuggling Of 30 Tons Of Bombbai Bawang Thwarted In West Kalimantan, Will Be Sent By Jakarta
JAKARTA - The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) of West Kalimantan thwarted an attempt to smuggle more than 30 tons of onions illegally imported at the Port of Dwikora Pontianak.
"The action was taken after the team received information from the public regarding the delivery of these agricultural commodities to Jakarta," said Head of the Customs and Excise Facilities Division of the West Kalimantan DJBC Regional Office, Beni Novri in Pontianak, Friday, confiscated by Antara.
Beni said his party immediately dispatched the Land Patrol Team to follow up on the report.
"This action began with information from the public about the delivery of onions which allegedly came from illegal imports to Jakarta," he said.
The team then monitored the distribution route and loading and unloading activities at Dwikora Port. As a result, officers found a truck carrying onions and about to be loaded to the Mulya Sentosa Ship bound for Jakarta.
