DKI Provincial Government Waits For Ministry Of Manpower Guidelines For Jakarta UMP 2026
JAKARTA - The determination of the 2026 Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) is still awaiting official direction from the central government.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency, Syaripudin, said that his party had not been able to start calculating because the guidelines from the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) had not yet been issued.
"Still waiting for guidelines from the Indonesian Government / Ministry of Manpower," said Syaripudin when confirmed, Friday, November 14.
According to Syaripudin, discussions will be carried out through the mechanism of the Wage Council of DKI Jakarta Province, an official forum consisting of representatives of workers or workers, employers, academics, experts, and local governments. This council became a negotiation room for various interests before the local government set the final UMP figure.
"The discussion is carried out by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Wage Council, which includes representatives of workers/workers, employers, academics, experts, and local governments," he said.
Until now, there has been no technical discussion regarding the projected increase. The DKI Provincial Government is still waiting for formulas and provisions that will form the basis for determining wages next year, including economic indicators that must be met in the calculation.
When asked if there was an overview of an increase or an initial decision, Syaripudin emphasized that the process had not yet reached that stage. If the guidelines from the Ministry of Manpower have been issued, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung will follow up with the governor's decision. "Later it will be determined by the governor's decision," he said.

Previously, the Minister of Manpower Yassierli revealed that his party was still making a formulation regarding the minimum wage stipulation for 2026. According to him, regulations are being prepared by having a dialogue with trade unions, employers and the National Wage Council.
"There are a lot of input from trade unions, labor barriers. We accept all of them. The National Wage Council has also finalized its regulations," Yassierli told media crews in Media Briefing at the Ministry of Manpower Building, Tuesday, October 28.
Yassierli also opens the opportunity to change the calculation formula for the 2026 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP). He reasoned that the previous formulation was no longer relevant to the current conditions.
"The UMP progress, we are preparing regulations. It could change (the rules). We open up opportunities (to change the rules)," he continued.
He hopes that with this formulation, the amount of wages decided in accordance with the agreement between workers and employers.
"We hope that the formula will be able to overcome the current challenges related to the disparity of wages, this is what we are studying," he explained.
Regarding the date for the issuance of this regulation, Yassierli said it would be announced on November 21, which was preceded by the issuance of the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower.
"Permenaker before November 21, we are targeting it. November 21 is the announcement of the province," continued Yassierli.
