5 Police Slashers During Land Execution In Sumbawa Arrested, 2 Others Still At Large

The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (Polda NTB) arrested five suspected perpetrators of stabbing police officers while actively securing land execution in Mapin Kebak Village, West Alas District, Sumbawa Regency, on November 5, 2025.

"Of the seven identified perpetrators, we have secured five," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the NTB Police, Kombes Pol. Syarif Hidayat in Mataram, Friday.

The results of the arrest of the NTB Police Puma Team on Thursday, November 13, on Sumbawa Island, and now the five suspected perpetrators are being held at the NTB Police Command Headquarters.

"For the permanent handling at the Sumbawa Police, we are here only to help with security and search," he said.

Syarif said the Puma Team of the NTB Police, which is under his command as Director General of the NTB Police, is still working on Sumbawa Island to trace the whereabouts of the other two suspected perpetrators.

"We are still investigating the other two. We hope that the two perpetrators surrender before we make a forced attempt," he said.

The identities of the perpetrators of the abuse against members of the police were revealed from the results of the identification of video recordings and documentation at the time of the incident. The alleged perpetrators were recorded carrying sharp weapons while refusing land execution.

From a series of investigations by the Sumbawa Police Satreskrim Team, it was revealed that one of the alleged perpetrators received payment from a person suspected of being the provocateur to carry out an attack that resulted in three police officers being seriously injured.

"One of the perpetrators received a fee of about one million from a provocateur to carry out severe abuse against members, causing torn wounds to his thigh," he said.

From the perpetrators, the police also confiscated a number of evidences used by the alleged perpetrators at the time of the incident, including sharp machetes.

The results of the investigation have also determined the five suspected perpetrators as suspects with each having a different role. This is also the basis for the police to entrust the detention at the NTB Police Detention Center.

In the suspect status, the five residents are suspected of violating Article 160 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 356 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 170 paragraph 2 of the 2nd Criminal Code and/or Article 213 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 214 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 406 of the Criminal Code.
