Facing Extreme Weather, Thousand Islands Police Hold Simulation On Pramuka Island

JAKARTA - The Thousand Islands Police held a simulation of preparedness in entering the rainy season on Pramuka Island, North Thousand Islands, North Jakarta, Thursday, November 13.

The Thousand Islands Police Chief AKBP Argadija Putra said this activity was attended by elements of Forkopimda, TNI-Polri, BPBD, and various related agencies.

This activity aims to ensure joint readiness in dealing with potential hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, strong winds, and high waves that often occur during the rainy season.

"Preparation is not only about equipment, but also speed and coordination in the field. This is part of our responsibility to protect Jakarta, including the Thousand Islands region," said AKBP Argadija when confirmed.

The police chief emphasized that the preparedness of all elements is the main key in maintaining public security and safety.

In this activity, simulations of flood emergency handling and evacuation of victims were also carried out by the joint team.

The simulation is intended to test the ability of inter-institutional coordination as well as the speed of response to emergency situations in the archipelago.

In addition to checking the readiness of facilities and infrastructure, the Thousand Islands Police also ensures the readiness of their personnel in the field.

All ranks have been directed to increase vigilance on every populated island, especially at points prone to natural disasters.

"The Thousand Islands Police are ready to support the steps taken by the local government and synergize with all parties in dealing with the dynamics of extreme weather," he said.
