Examined At Polda Metro, Roy Suryo: "We Represent All Indonesian People"

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Roy Suryo has fulfilled the summons of Polda Metro Jaya investigators in the alleged defamation case related to the alleged fake certificate of the former 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Roy arrived at Polda Metro Jaya along with other suspects, namely Rismon Sianipar and Tifauzia TYasumma or known as doctor Tifa. In addition, it appears that their attorneys and colleagues are accompanying them.

Roy said their presence was not to represent individuals but to represent the people who wanted change.

"Because we are here, we are not representing ourselves, we represent all Indonesian people who want change for this country," said Roy when he arrived at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Roy said that the Jokowi government, during one cadence, had made the people controlled by the regime, by justifying all means. That, said Roy, using a fake diploma.

"All methods include using fake diplomas which have not dared to be exposed until now. We are here to uphold the truth," he explained.

In fact, Roy also mentioned President Prabowo Subianto not to repeat the anger of the previous regime who had imprisoned two children of the nation.

"Don't let Pak Prabowo Subianto as president now repeat the mistakes made in the previous regime, have criminalized two children of the nation, namely Bambang Trimulyono and also Gus Nur,"

Roy emphasized that this condition was not only President Prabowo's fault, but the parties around him who he called had the potential to be misleading.

"Maybe this is not Pak Prabowo's fault, but one of the people around him who wants to decompose the President," he said.

Previously, in the case of Jokowi's alleged fake diploma, the police had named eight suspects. The five suspects in the first cluster were Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Damai Hari Lubis, Rustam Effendi, and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah.

The three suspects in the second cluster are Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianpiar, and Tifauzia Tyassuma.

Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri conveyed the determination of the suspect after a case was held on the report made by Jokowi.

"Based on the results of the investigation, we have named 8 people as suspects that we divided into two clusters," he said.
