Hero's Day, Semarang Holds A Red And White Order Of 1,945 Meters

The Red and White Order with a span of 1,945 meters of flag colored the commemoration of Heroes' Day in Semarang City, Central Java, Monday.

Starting from the Semarang City Hall on Jalan Pemuda, Semarang, the procession of the carnival moved to Simpang Lima Field.

It appears that thousands of participants from various elements participated in the Red and White Order with a flag that has a long symbol of Indonesia's independence year.

Among the flag flying, standing dashingly the symbol of the garuda bird with the symbol of Pancasila as high as five meters which became the center of attention of the residents and participants of the carnival.

Deputy Mayor of Semarang Iswar Aminuddin who was also present emphasized the importance of togetherness in continuing the nation's ideals.

According to him, the spirit of mutual cooperation and unity is the key so that development in all fields runs optimally.

"In every stage of development, we must unite so that no single layer of society is left behind in enjoying the fruits of prosperity," he said, confiscated by Antara.

He said that the first five-year period of government is now the first step to prepare a strong, prosperous, and sovereign nation.

"We must continue the struggle of the heroes, not only with the flag flying, but also with the spirit of nationalism that lives in concrete actions," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Regional Secretary of Semarang City Budi Prakosa said that the Red and White Order was an effort to re-grow the spirit of nationalism and remember the services of the heroes.

"This kirab is a form of respect for the fighters and predecessors who have sacrificed for the sake of the nation's independence. We want the younger generation to continue to remember and imitate their fighting spirit," he said.

The Semarang City Government plans to make the Red and White Order an annual agenda because such a warning is important so that the value of the struggle and love of the country continues to live in the community.

"If we don't hold activities like this, it is feared that the next generation will be further away from the meaning of the struggle and sacrifice of heroes," he said.

At Simpang Lima Field, the participants of the carnival ended their activities by praying together for the heroes who had fallen.
