Former KPK Chairman Antasari Azhar Dies

JAKARTA - Sad news came from the world of Indonesian law. Former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Antasari Azhar reportedly died, Saturday, November 8, 2025.

This sad news was confirmed by Antasari's attorney, Boyamin Saiman. He said that the body of the deceased would be prayed at the Asy-Syarif BSD Mosque.

"That's right, I just confirmed with other fellow prosecutors and to the Asy-Syarif Mosque management," Boyamin said when confirmed.

Boyamin said that the funeral prayer would be carried out after the Asar prayer. Boyamin also expressed his deep sorrow for the loss of his client.

"Indeed, Mr. Antasari ba's funeral prayer will be held. So it is certain that Mr. Antasari died. Please pray, please forgive all his mistakes. We pray that he will get the maximum reward in the hereafter," he said.

Several years ago, Antasari Azhar was hospitalized because his blood sugar indicators had soared. For information, Alamaru was the chairman of the KPK for the period 18 December 2007-11 October 2009.

Antasari is the 4th of 15 children, the son of H. Azhar Hamid, SH and Hj Asnani (late.). The father of Antasari Azhar has served as head of the tax office in Bangka Belitung.
