Cirebon Immigration Deports Chinese And Thai Citizens Who Use Tourism Visa To Work
CIREBON - Class I Immigration Office of TPI Cirebon, West Java, deported two foreign nationals (WNA) from Thailand and China for violating the stay permit rules while in Majalengka Regency.
Head of the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section (Kasi Inteldak) Cirebon Immigration, Deny Haryadi, said the two foreigners had the initials CS (49) from Thailand and HH (43) from China, respectively.
Deny said that this case was revealed from field surveillance activities carried out by the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Team (Inteljakim) of the Cirebon Immigration Office.
"Both of them were secured in Majalengka for carrying out activities that were not in accordance with their residence permit," he said in Cirebon, Antara, Thursday, October 9.
According to Deny, the Thai foreigner was caught installing an engine installation and providing use training at a factory project in Majalengka.
After being examined, it was discovered that the person concerned entered Indonesia using a visit visa, not a work visa.
In the same surveillance activity, officers also secured foreigners from China, HH, in different locations. Based on the results of the examination, HH is a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) holder with the position of Research & Development Manager, but in the field it actually works as Quality Control.
"This means that the activities carried out are not in accordance with the provisions of the residence permit they have," said Deny.
The two foreigners were deemed to have violated Article 75 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 122 letter (a) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.
"Both of them have been immigration administrative actions in the form of deportation to their respective countries of origin," he said.
Deny added that the success of this action could not be separated from the participation of the community who reported the presence of foreigners in the surrounding environment.
As of October 2025, his party has taken action against 20 foreigners for violating residence permits and misuse of visas.
