Foreign Minister Lavrov Says NATO And The European Union Declare War Against Russia Via Ukraine
JAKARTA - The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Union (EU) have declared a real war against Russia through Ukraine, participating directly in it, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting of foreign ministers of the G20 country.
He noted that refusal to comply with the principles of the UN Charter constitutes "a manifestation of neo-colonial ambitions, (which) led to increased global instability and sparked regional conflicts."
"For example, the crisis in Ukraine, which is collectively provoked by the West, through which NATO and the European Union want to state, in reality, has declared a real war against my country and participated directly in it," Foreign Minister Lavrov said at a meeting held on the sidelines of the United Nations' 80th General Assembly in New York, United States Thursday local time. , reported TASS September 26.
"Escalation in the Middle East is in the same situation," Foreign Minister Lavrov added.
An unprecedented humanitarian disaster in Gaza has claimed the lives of 65,000 people, and several UN officials working in the Middle East say there are estimates that the death toll is 10 times higher.
"No Israeli neighbors can feel safe; we watch this every day," said Foreign Minister Lavrov.
The head of Russian diplomacy also noted that the meeting of Foreign Ministers this time took place in the year marked by "two important warnings." Eight years ago, with the Soviet Union playing a key role, Germany's Nazism and Japanese militarism were destroyed, with the People's Republic of China making a special contribution to the victory.
This victory allowed the creation of the United Nations, which the founders called for to 'regard future generations of war disasters' and 'promotion social progress', he said.
