The Meteorological Agency for Climatology and Geophysics Calls 4 Regions In Southeast Sulawesi Flood Alert Status
JAKARTA - The Meteorological Agency for Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) said four areas in Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra) are on flood alert status due to the potential for heavy rains that could lead to flash floods.
Kendari Maritime Meteorological Station Chief Sugeng Widarko said the four areas are Kendari City, Konawe Regency, South Konawe, and North Konawe.
"All four areas are on standby. The potential impact of heavy rains can lead to flash floods. For konawe district potentially occurs in Meluhu, Amonggedo, Morosi, Pondidaha, Besulutu, Sampara, Soropia, Lalonggasumeeto, Kapoiala, Bondoala, and Anggalomoare districts", he said, reported by Antara, Sunday, May 16.
Second, in South Konawe Regency potentially in Sabulakoa District, West Ranomeeto, Landono, Ranomeeto, North Moramo, Konda, and Moramo. Lalau in North Konawe Regency has the potential in Motui, Sawa, and Lembo subdistricts.
"For Kendari City, there could be heavy rain in Puwatu, Baruga, Wua Wua, Kambu, Kadia, Poasia, Abeli, Nambo, Kendari, Kendari Barat, and Mandonga districts", he explained.

In addition, the local BMKG also said, alert status in East Kolaka District in Dangia, Ladongi, Loea, Tirawuta, Tinondo, and Ueesi subdistricts. Then in Konawe District in Onembute, Uepai, Abuki, North Tongauna, Tongauna, Wawotobi, Anggotoa, Unaaha, Anggaberi, Meluhu, Amonggedo, Pondidaha, Padangguni, Routa, and Latoma.
"Furthermore, in North Konawe District the alert status in Lasolo, Wawolesea, Lembo Motui, Sawa, Molawe, Asera, and Andowia districts", he said.
Then in South Konawe District in Sabulakoa, Landono, Ranomeeto, Mowila, Angata, Benua, Basala, Buke, Andoolo Barat, Baito, Palangga, Laeya, Wolasi, Moramo Utara, Konda, Moramo, Kolono, Laonti, Palangga Selatan, Lainea, Andoolo, Tinanggea, and Lalembuu.
"Next in Kolaka District the alert status in Iwoimendaa, and Wolo subdistricts. Then in North Kolaka Regency the alert status in Batu Putih Subdistrict, Purehu, Pakue Utara, Pakue Tengah, Pakue, Katoi, Lasusua, Lambai, Ranteangin, Wawo, KOdeoha, Tiwu, Ngapa, and Watunohu", said Sugeng.
He delivered the BMKG impact-based weather forecast that is valid from May 17, 2021, at 08.00 a.m. local time until May 18, 2021, at 08.00 a.m. local time.
