Bad News From Kulon Progo, COVID-19 Patients Increased To 5.540 Cases
JAKARTA - Patients confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Kulon Progo District, Special Region of Yogyakarta, increased by 28 new cases, bringing the total number of cases in this region to 5.540 cases.
"COVID-19 cases as of May 16, 2021, there were an additional 28 confirmed positive. The majority of new cases from Sangon Cluster, Kokap Sub-district as many as 17 cases", said the Kulon Progo Task Force Spokesman for The Acceleration of Handling of COVID-19 Baning Rahayujati, reported Antara, Sunday, May 16.
He said that 28 new cases came from Galur, Kokap, Wates Pengasih, Sentolo, and Kalibawang. As for the addition of each sub-district, namely Galur two cases, Kokap 18 cases, Wates two cases, Pengasih one case, Nanggulan one case, Sentolo one case, and Kalibawang three cases.
"Today, Kokap Sub-District still breaks the record for daily addition of COVID-19 due to Sangon cluster", she said.

Baning said that the development of PCR confirmation case addition as many as 17 positive results from 75 mass swab samples from Sangon Hamlet, Kokap Subdistrict. Total COVID-19 patients from Sangon Cluster as many as 124 cases distributed in four hamlets, namely Sangon 1 Kalirejo Village as many as 60 cases, Hargomulyo Village Kadigunung as many as 60 cases, Tapen Hargomulyo Village two cases and Tlogolelo Hargomulyo Village two cases.
"Out of a total of 124 cases, three were hospitalized, and 121 underwent self-isolation. We are still restricting access in Hargomulyo and Kalirejo villages, Kokap sub-district to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in this region", she said.
Furthermore, based on data from the Kulon Progo Health Office, a total of COVID-19 as many as 5.540 cases with details of 43 hospital isolation, 700 self-isolation, 4.163 completed isolation, 531 cured, and 103 died.
The five sub-districts with the highest cases of COVID-19, namely Pengasih 755 cases, Wates 742 cases, Sentolo and Kokap each has 600 cases, and Panjatan 537 cases.
"To date, 90 percent of neighborhoods in Kulon Progo is still a green zone, and three orange zones", she said.
