JAKARTA - Pertamina's initiative to merge three Subholdings has the support of Commission VI of the DPR. The support was revealed at the Hearing Meeting (RDP) between Commission VI of the DPR and PT Pertamina (Persero), in Jakarta, Thursday, September 11, 2025.

"Commission VI of the DPR RI supports PT Pertamina (Persero) and Subholding to carry out the following things: The plan to merge the operational operations of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Subholding, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional, and PT Pertamina International Shipping as a priority alignment of the company's initiatives and in line with the policy direction of the Anagata Nusantara Daya Investment Management Agency (Dantara)," said Deputy Chairman of Commission VI, Adisatrya Suryo Sulisto as chairman of the trial, when reading the RDP conclusion, quoted Tuesday, September 16.

In addition, Adisatrya continued, Commission VI also supports the consolidation of a number of business units outside the main business of PT Pertamina (Persero), so that it focuses on the core business in the oil and gas sector, as well as renewable energy, according to the direction and joint study of Danantara.

Previously, member of Commission VI of the House of Representatives, Rivqy Abdul Halim, appreciated the plan to integrate three Pertamina Subholdings. He said the plan was a good breakthrough. Likewise with the planned merger between Pelita Air and Garuda Indonesia, Rivqy hopes, Hopefully it will be a breakthrough too, cooperation between SOEs.

Regarding the planned merger, the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Simon Aloysius Mantiri conveyed in the RDP.

"We will carry out downstream integration, namely the merger of operations between PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Pertamina International Refinery and also Pertamina International Shipping which we are targeting will be completed by the end of 2025," said Simon.

Related to this, Simon revealed that in the future the Company will focus more on the core business, namely in the oil and gas (oil and gas) sector and renewable energy. Thus, a number of business units outside the main business will be separated or the spin off of the Company.

Commission VI did respond positively to Pertamina's downstream business integration plan. The plan is considered in line with the spirit and direction of the Danantara policy direction.

Danantara Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dony Oskaria previously said that his party plans to streamline the number of SOEs and their subsidiaries, from a total of more than 800 to around 200 companies.

According to Dony at that time, this was an effort so that state-owned companies would only focus on their respective business (core business). Pertamina, which has core business on oil and gas, for example, also has hospital businesses to travel agents.

If state-owned companies return to their core business, Dony thinks the company will be healthier and stronger.
