Build Clean Water Facilities And Infrastructure, SIG Helps Overcome The Clean Water Crisis Of Hundreds Of People In Rembang And Blora
JAKARTA - Salamun, the Head of Pasucen Village in Rembang, Central Java, remembers his childhood when access to clean water was still a big challenge for his villagers, especially during the dry season. He said that in the past, residents had to walk far away just to get water, by carrying buckets and carrying jerry cans.
The limitations of water sources have been experienced by residents of Pasucen Village in Rembang Regency and Ngampel Village in Blora Regency for decades. Mainly during the dry season, residents had to walk long to get clean water for their daily needs. Now, this condition has changed drastically thanks to the assistance from PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) through its subsidiary, PT Semen Gresik, which built a pipeline network from springs in the Brubulan tunnel to residential areas as far as 100 meters - 600 meters, and water reservoirs.
"As a result, almost all Pasucen residents can now enjoy clean water for their daily needs, such as cooking, bathing, and washing, without having to bother anymore," said Salamun.
The same thing was also expressed by the Head of Ngampel Village, Mohamad Astiadi Maryanto, who said that the assistance of clean water facilities and infrastructure from PT Semen Gresik had a very positive impact on its citizens.
Previously, our residents had difficulty with water. Now, thank God, the water has flowed smoothly directly to their homes. The discharge is large, very sufficient for daily needs," said Mohamad Astiadi Maryanto.
In the period 2017 to 2024, PT Semen Gresik has invested IDR 582.7 million for the construction of clean water facilities and infrastructure in Pasucen and Ngampel, including pipeline systems, water reservoirs, reservoirs, and water pumps. Thanks to the assistance of the clean water infrastructure, now clean water can flow directly to residential areas with a total beneficiary reaching 457 families (KK), namely 250 families in Pasucen Village and 207 families in Ngampel Village.
