Prabowo Promises To Follow Up On The Bill On Asset And Employment Confiscation
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto met with representatives of the Indonesian Labor Movement at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Monday, September 1. During the meeting, Prabowo promised to follow up on three draft laws (RUU) that became public attention.
The President of the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI), Andi Gani Nena Wea, said the Asset Confiscation Bill was a priority.
"The president promised that the democratic space will be maintained and first, the Asset Confiscation Bill will be discussed immediately, as well as the Employment Bill that workers ask for," he said.
Meanwhile, the President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) Said Iqbal emphasized the urgency of ratifying the Asset Confiscation Bill. According to him, this rule will be an important instrument to create a deterrent effect for corruptors.
"Immediately the Asset Confiscation Bill is the best proof so that corruptors are deterrent and impoverished. At least discussions will begin," said Said Iqbal.

In addition, the third proposal discussed is related to elections. The labor movement encourages the redesign of the electoral system to be cleaner and free from corrupt practices.
"Most corruption occurs in state officials, both legislature and executive. Related to this, a clean election is the best way, which we call the redesign of the electoral system," said Said Iqbal.
