Prabowo Chooses To Swim To Relax Ahead Of Tomorrow's State Speech For The 80th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi said President Prabowo Subianto underwent swimming activities to keep his body relaxed ahead of delivering a state speech at the DPR/MPR RI Building, Jakarta, Friday 15 August.

"Usually, the President's preparation is to swim, so that he relaxes," said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, which was confiscated by Antara.

Prasetyo said the activity was carried out by President Prabowo in the midst of intensive preparations to complete the material for the speech.

He explained that the state speech would be delivered in the morning as part of the President's obligation, followed by a speech on the 2026 financial note in the afternoon.

Prasetyo revealed that the emphasis on the content of the speech would not come out of Astacita and priority programs for the government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"So, he and his team have been concentrating on compiling the speech for a few days, which of course the emphasis will not come out of Astacita and what are priority programs," he said.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will deliver two state speeches on the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Friday 15 August, at the MPR Building and DPR RI, Senayan Jakarta, said an official at the Indonesian Presidential Communication Office.

Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi at a press conference at the PCO Office, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Thursday, said the first speech was scheduled to take place at 09.00 WIB in front of the MPR.

The second state speech, said Hasan, will be held at 14.30 WIB before the DPR RI Plenary Meeting. The President is scheduled to deliver an introduction to the 2026 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget Draft (RAPBN).

Hasan added that according to the letter of warning for the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia issued by the Minister of State Secretary on August 12, 2025, all government agencies, the private sector, and the public were advised to watch live broadcasts of the two speeches through various channels, including radio, television, YouTube, and other broadcast platforms.
