Legal Expert Values Director General Of Immigration On Career Routes Understands And Quickly Solve Problems
JAKARTA - Constitutional Law expert from Andalas University Feri Amsari assessed that officials from the Director General (Dirjen) of Immigration who come from career paths from the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenimipas) can understand more and can solve problems more quickly within the agency.
"The Director General of Immigration from the internal will certainly understand more about the problem," Feri said when confirmed in Jakarta, Thursday, as quoted by Antara.
Feri assessed that candidates from outside immigration agencies would need more time to achieve maximum results, because the person concerned must first understand the issue of immigration as a whole.
Therefore, he emphasized that the position of the Director General of Immigration should be filled by people with careers at the Directorate of Immigration. Because apart from having a lot of experience in providing support and strengthening immigration, they better understand the various needs and problems in the institution.
Another thing that also concerns him is about teamwork in advancing Immigration. If from a career path, teamwork will be easier to form.
"If from the internal, apart from understanding the problem and teamwork, it is also better because he will understand the capacity of the person or human resources (my human source)," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by Member of Commission XIII DPR RI Andreas Hugo Pareira agreeing to the discourse regarding officials of the Director General of Immigration being prioritized from the internal elements of the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration.
According to him, the discourse and proposal are important because what is needed as Director General of Immigration is a person who understands his main duties and functions, while emphasizing that competence is something that must be owned by a candidate for the Director General of Immigration.
"The Director General must be seen based on competence and needs according to his main duties and responsibilities," Andreas said in his statement in Jakarta Tuesday.
He emphasized that another thing needed in filling the position of Director General of Immigration is to be free from interests, which means, a Director General must really work professionally and not on the basis of certain interests.
"The Director General of Immigration must also avoid interests, meaning that it must be based on competence and needs," he said.
