Karawang Kadin: Eid Getting Closer, Dear Companies, Pay THR Employees
JAKARTA - The Karawang Regency Chamber of Commerce and Industry, West Java, reminded all companies in Karawang to complete their obligation to pay holiday allowances following the approaching Eid al-Fitr.
"The company is obliged to pay THR (holiday allowances) for its employees," said Karawang Fadludin Damanhuri, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), to Antara, as quoted on Sunday, May 9.
He said the government, through the Ministry of Manpower, had warned long ago about the company's obligation to pay THR for its employees.
"The government has long conveyed the obligation to pay THR. The provisions have also been determined. So it must be implemented by every company," he said.
Asked further, Fadludin, who is usually called Fadel, admitted that he received reports of companies delaying or suspending THR payments.
"Until now there has been no report on the suspension or delay of THR payments. Jaid, we appreciate the companies that comply by paying THR according to the applicable regulations," he said.

Meanwhile, the Manpower and Transmigration Office itself has opened a THR complaint service to anticipate that there are companies that cannot fulfill their obligation to pay THR before Eid.
"Employees who do not receive the THR are welcome to report to the Manpower Office," said the local Manpower and Transmigration Service Acting Officer Asip Suhendar.
According to Asip, based on a Circular of the Minister of Manpower regarding the implementation of the provision of THR for employees in 2021 for workers, the company is obliged to pay it with a time limit of seven days before Eid.
"The rule applies to all employees who have a continuous work relationship for one month or more and workers who have an unspecified work relationship or a specific time work agreement," he said.
