Commemorating 29 Years Of Kudatuli, PDIP: The Little Wong Party Will Continue To Rise Despite Pressure
JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat emphasized that PDIP is a small wong party or small people who will never die and will continue to rise must continue to get pressure.
This was conveyed by Djarot during the 29th anniversary of the riots on July 27, 1996 or Kudatuli which was held at the Head Office of the PDIP DPP Jalan Diponegoro No.58, Central Jakarta, Sunday.
According to him, Kudatuli is an important history in Indonesia's democratic journey because it shows how brutal the New Order is in eradicating political opposition.
He called the attack on the 1996 PDIP DPP Office an act of violence that injured the right to association and speak.
"Those who were attacked were arrested and punished, while those who attacked actually partyd on the blood and tears of the people. This should not be forgotten," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.
Djarot also criticized the rampant corruption and the elite lifestyle that distanced themselves from the values of the struggle.
"Don't let us become foremans of Kalak, work slack to eat hard. Don't be rich because of corruption and dredge people's resources. Power is a real test," he said.
