DuckDuckGo Browser Makes Features To Hide AI-Made Images
JAKARTA - DuckDuckGo browser officially launched a new feature that allows users to hide images generated by artificial intelligence (AI) from their search results.
This step is in line with DuckDuckGo's philosophy of AI technology which emphasizes three principles, namely personal, useful, and optional.
Our goal is to help you find what you're looking for. You're the one who determines how much AI you want in your life or whether you want it at all," the company wrote in its announcement on X.

This feature can be used when the user does an image search. So, in the image tab, a new drop-down option will be available that reads AI images: show or AI images: hide.

When the hide option is enabled, DuckDuckGo will automatically filter search results instead of displaying images created by AI.
This filter is supported by a manually curated list of open source blockings, including a "nuclear list" of uBlockOrigin and a list of HUGE AI Blocklists from the uBlacklist.
The company insists that although it is unable to screen 100% of AI-made images, this feature is claimed to significantly reduce the number in search results.
"While it will not capture 100% of the AI-generated results, this filter will significantly reduce the number of AI images you see," he explained.
Users can also activate this filter through the search settings menu by selecting the Hide AI-Generated Images > On option.
Alternatively, users can directly access special sites on noai.duckduckgo.com. In this version, the AI image filter will be activated automatically, the AI-based summary is turned off, and the Duck.ai chat icon is hidden.
