KPK Employees Become Civil Servants, Experts Say As Fair Things
JAKARTA - Money laundering criminal law expert (TPPU) Yenti Garnasih assesses that the transfer of status of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employee to the state civil servant (ASN) is a natural thing.
"By turning KPK employees into civil servants, it will make the system more orderly," said Yenti Garnasih in a written statement received in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, May 5.
She said that the KPK was an institution that was independent, and under the president, also its budget was from the state. Thus, the payroll system is actually regulated by the Government.
The former chancellor of the anti-corruption agency compared that if a KPK employee becomes ASN, it is no different from the Attorney General's investigator who is also ASN.
"What's the difference between KPK investigators and Attorney General's investigators, they work together. In fact, the AGO investigators have more work," she said.

Yenti also considered the existence of the KPK staff organization unclear. Therefore, it will be more systematic if employees become civil servants.
"So, so that there is a common staffing system," she said.
After all, she continued, the KPK was also unknown, including the nomenclature position.
Regarding the independence that is considered to be reduced in the body of the KPK if employees become ASN, she doubts this.
According to her, even though KPK employees became ASN, they were still given room to be independent in eradicating corruption in the country.
"I do not agree that there is a term that makes an ASN not being independent, while the corruption investigators are in the police and the prosecutor's office," she said.
She hopes that Firli Bahuri can prove her professionalism and independence from the consequences of the new KPK Law, including that KPK employees will become ASN. This is to restore public trust.
Previously, the KPK had received the results of a national insight test of the status transfer of KPK employees to ASN from the State Civil Service Agency (BKN). The national insight test is part of the process of changing the status of KPK employees to ASN or PNS.
