Ministry Of Public Works Bangun SPAM Kamijoro Phase 2 In Kulon Progo, Progress Reaches 28.73 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has again built the Kitajoro Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) phase 2 in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY).

Pembangunan SPAM Kamijoro tahap 2 ini meliputi pekerjaan jaringan perpipaan sepanjang 24 kilometer serta pembangunan reservoir dengan kapasitas 500 meter kubik dan booster 100 meter kubik.

This package includes installing the main distribution network from Pleret to Glagah, installing distribution networks for Cerme, Dobangsin, Tawangsari and Palihan, installing live distribution networks and home connections.

The Ministry of Public Works targets the construction of a pipeline and house connection network (SR) to be completed by the end of this year, so that 1,702 SR can be directly utilized by the people of Kulon Progo Regency.

Acting (Plt) Head of the Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) DIY Directorate General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of Public Works, Ratria Anggraini, said that the progress of the development of SPAM Kamijoro phase 2 had reached more than 28 percent to date.

"As of June 24, 2025, the progress of the construction phase 2 reached 28.73 percent," said Ratria in a written statement, Thursday, June 26.

With the development of the existing system, Ratria hopes that the Kamijoro SPAM can be utilized optimally by the local government (Pemda).

"It is hoped that the public can enjoy safe and proper access to drinking water to support the health and welfare of the community," he concluded.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Works had completed 100 percent of the Kamijoro Phase 1 SPAM construction in December 2024, to supply 150 liters per second of the 300 liter per second target for the people of Kulon Progo Regency.

The SPAM Kamijoro Phase 1 service covers the Aerocity and Aeropolis areas of Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) Airport, Tanjung Adikarto Port and as additional supplies for existing SPAMs in Galur, Lendah, Wates and Temon.

Services to the community will be carried out in stages and this year 43 liters per second will be used to serve 4,300 existing SR.
