The Progress Of The Lamseupeung Lambhuk Suspension Bridge In Banda Aceh Is 90.76 Percent, Completed In July 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) continues to strive to complete the construction of the Lamseupeung Village Suspension Bridge, Gampong Lambhuk, which connects Lueng Bata District with Ulee Kareng in Banda Aceh City, Aceh Province.

The progress of the bridge construction with a total length of 80 meters and a width of 1.80 meters has reached 90.76 percent as of June 23, 2025.

"Physically, the progress of bridge construction until June 23, 2025 has reached 90.76 percent and is targeted for completion in July 2025," said Head of the Aceh National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works Heri Yugiantoro in a written statement, Thursday, June 26.

Heri explained that the construction of the Lamseupeung Village Gampong Suspension Bridge was designed with a symmetric rigid type and bore pile foundation, so that it met the standard for a safe and comfortable suspension bridge to pass by pedestrians and motorcyclists.

Therefore, the presence of the bridge has been eagerly awaited by the community because the benefits not only facilitate access between regions but also make it easier for residents to worship to the Keuchik Leumik Hajj Mosque which is the main place of worship.

"Previously, pilgrims from Lambhuk and Beurawe had to pass the Surabaya Simpang Bridge far away. Now, access is easier, especially for the elderly and pilgrims who want to worship on time," he said.

With an iconic design, the Lamseupeung Village Gampong Suspension Bridge, Gampong Lambhuk, which is opposite the Keuchik Leumik Hajj Mosque, is also expected to add to the beauty of the area around the mosque and has the potential as a photo object to increase the attractiveness of tourists in Banda Aceh.

It is known, the Ministry of Public Works in increasing connectivity between regions not only builds toll road infrastructure, but also people's infrastructure such as suspension bridges.

The suspension bridge is a connecting access that has a vital role to play in facilitating the mobility of social activities and the community's economy.

The existence of a suspension bridge is believed to have a positive impact on the surrounding community, especially in accelerating the daily mobility of the community, which previously had to take a fairly long turnaround.
