Observers Consider APSYFI Arrogant In Responding To The BMAD Decision
JAKARTA - Political and Public Policy Observer Fernando Gold appreciated the decision of the Ministry of Trade to reject Anti-Dumping Import Duty (BMAD) against Partially Oriented Yarn (POY) and Drawn Textured Yarn (DTY). According to him, the decision of the Minister of Trade takes into account various aspects including 101 companies that convey rejection, Chairman of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), and Indonesian Textile Asosise (API).
"However, it is very unfortunate that the attitude of the Indonesian Filament Filament Rate and Benang Producers Association (APSYFI) looks selfish and arrogant in responding to the government's decision to reject the proposal from the Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI)," he said, quoted on Tuesday, June 24.
Fernando added that the current global economic situation also has an impact on the domestic economy and industry.
"It is very natural for the government through the Ministry of Trade to reject BMAD against POY and DTY based on various comprehensive considerations and the impact caused if the KADI proposal is rejected or accepted," he explained.
"APSYFI's attitude that does not accept the Ministry of Trade's decision to make accusations recklessly and includes making real reasons for solutions related to their products," he said.
Regarding the prudentuk results of the APSYFI company, there has been a commitment from representatives of 101 entrepreneurs who submitted a petition to be willing to absorb domestic POY production capacity with standard business practices.
"I also appreciate that what the Ministry of Industry has done is related to the recommendation that BMAD for filamentary yarn products from China is not continued because it is for the benefit of the textile industry and textile products (TPT)," he said.
In addition, the policy is part of an effort to support President Prabowo Subianto's program to strengthen the domestic industry.
"I am also surprised by the accusation that the Ministry of Industry seems to support illegal imports, of course something that is fabricated and tends to interfere with the government's performance," he said.
With these accusations, they want to interfere with the cohesiveness of the presidential assistants because some time ago Prabowo Subianto said that his cabinet was already compact.

"Could APSYFI have a hidden agenda for the benefit of its group who want to reap their own benefits regardless of the risks, including disturbing Prabowo Subianto's government," he said.
Fernando, who is also the Executive Director of Indonesian Political Houses, added that even more than that, due to the occurrence of many layoffs if BMAD is applied to POY and DTY, it will reduce the level of public trust in the Prabowo Subianto government.
"I hope that the Prabowo Subianto government remains vigilant and careful in making policies so as not to cause negative impacts and be utilized by a group of people," he said.
