Eid 1446 H, SIG Distributes 237 Sacrificial Animals Equivalent To 21 Tons Of Meat In 20 Provinces
JAKARTA - At the moment of Eid al-Adha 1446 H, PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) distributed 237 sacrificial animals spread across 20 provinces. The sacrificial animals consisting of 166 cows and 71 goats or the equivalent of 21 tons of meat, were distributed in stages from June 3, 2025 to June 10, 2025 and distributed through mosques, foundations, Islamic boarding schools, as well as community settlements around the company's operating area.
The distribution of sacrificial animals from GIS is spread across 20 provinces including Riau (Dumai), West Sumatra (Padang), Lampung (Badar Lampung and South Lampung), Bengkulu, South Sumatra (Palembang and Baturaja), Jakarta, Banten (Cilegon), West Java (Bogor and Cirebon), Central Java (Kendal, Rembang, Blora, Cilacap, and Sukoharjo), East Java (Tuban, Gresik, Pasuruan, and Banyuwangi), Bali (Buleleng), West Kalimantan (Pontianak), South Kalimantan (Banjarmasin), South Sulawesi (Pangkep and Makassar), North Sulawesi (Bitung), West Sulawesi (Mamuju), Southeast Sulawesi (Konawe Selatan), Maluku (Ambon), North Maluku (Tidore Islands), to West Papua (Sorong).
SIG's Corporate Secretary, Vita Mahreyni said, Eid teaches piety through concern for social society.
"Eiduladha is a momentum to improve the quality of relations between human beings, making us a more useful person by being more sensitive to the situation and conditions in the surrounding environment," said Vita Mahreyni, quoted on Sunday, June 8.
Vita Mahreyni added that the distribution of sacrificial animals which is routinely run every year is a form ofIG's concern for communities around the Company's operating area. As a form of support for the local economy, GIS buys sacrificial animals from MSMEs in each company's operating area, and ensures that all sacrificial animals distributed have gone through a health test so that they are safe and fit for consumption.
"This program is also an opportunity for friendship and a moment to strengthen the company's synergy with all stakeholders, so that it becomes energy to progress and develop together," said Vita Mahreyni.
Deputy Chairperson of the Nagari Customary Meeting (KAN) of Lubuk Kilangan, Padang, West Sumatra, Asril Azis expressed his gratitude to the company for the environment and society. This year, the GIS represented by its subsidiary, PT Semen Padang distributed sacrificial cows to KAN Lubuk Kilangan to be distributed to the public, especially members of KAN and community leaders.
