Muhadjir Effendy Predicts The COVID-19 Pandemic Will Be Completed Soon In Today's Memory, May 4, 2020

Previously, the government faced the corona virus entering Indonesia. Casualties increased. The economy was destroyed. However, the government is reluctant to use a regional quarantine solution (lockdown). The corona virus is increasingly spreading everywhere.

The COVID-19 pandemic has become a big impact throughout the world. All countries feel the impact of the massive spread of the corona virus. The transmission rate is high. The death toll fell. The country's economy is plunging freely.

Indonesia feels it too. The government asks the Indonesian people not to panic. The owner of the power tries to convince that resistance to the corona virus is a common resistance. However, the government is reluctant to lock down like other countries.

This policy is considered not a solution.Lockdown justru is believed to have a negative impact on the Indonesian economy. The Indonesian government made its best appeal while waiting for directions from the world health agency, WHO.

The desire for the Indonesian people to unite to follow the government's advice was also voiced directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Jokowi asked all elements of society to work hand in hand in helping break the chain of virus spread from Wuhan.

He also thanked all health workers and officers who were at the forefront of the pandemic. He also thanked the people who remained at home. According to him, this step is quite appropriate.

Jokowi also appealed to the people not to be lax in keeping their distance and others. Everything so that the pandemic can be passed immediately.

"We are not alone, we are together with other countries who are also experiencing the same thing to jointly overcome this pandemic. And stay patient, optimistic, stay disciplined at home. Keep your distance in interacting with other people. Avoid crowds diligently washing your hands. Wear a mask when leaving the house. "

"When we do this strong discipline, God willing, we will return to normal situations and conditions and be able to meet with you. Meeting friends with relatives and neighbors is in a normal situation," said Jokowi as quoted by the state secretariat website, April 10, 2020.

Optimism is not always felt by President Jokowi himself. His staff also felt the same way. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy, dared to predict that COVID-19 would end at the end of June on May 4, 2020.

He made this prediction considering that May was considered the peak of the outbreak. This condition made the epidemic decline in June. However, the prediction could not be correct because it depends on many variables, including community compliance.

"If using the assumption that the peak of the outbreak occurs at the end of May and after that it will decrease. So, by the end of June the epidemic can be overcome. But we are optimistic, hopefully June will subside," Muhadjir said as quoted on the tempo.co page, May 4, 2020.

This prediction clearly raises criticism from everywhere. The world is struggling to break the chain of COVID-19, but has not produced a significant impact. The transmission rate continues to accelerate. In fact, some predict the pandemic will not disappear until the end of 2020 and occur.
