70 Students Of As-Shofiyani Bekasi Islamic Boarding School Had Food Poisoning After Breaking Their Fast, The Police Immediately Investigating The Food Donor
BEKASI - Dozens of students from the As-Shofiyani Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Kedungwaringin Village, Sukaringin Village, Sukawangi District, Bekasi Regency, West Java experienced food poisoning during iftar on Tuesday, April 27.
Tambelang Regional Police Chief Shodirin confirmed this incident. His party received reports of poisoning from the local community.
"There are about 70 students along with ustadz suspected of having food poisoning", he said in Cikarang as quoted from Antara, Thursday, April 29.

The incident began with breaking-fast activities which became a routine agenda of the Islamic boarding school. The iftar food menu is obtained from donations from donors.
When the poisoning occurred, there were a number of iftar menus sent by donors, including mixed ice, lontong sayur, and crackers.
"Then after being taken and eaten for about an hour, around 7 people felt dizzy, nauseous, and vomited", he said.
They were then taken to the Mantri Rohiman Clinic located in Cabangbungin District.
Shodirin admitted that up to now 49 students have recovered and been discharged while 21 others are still being treated.
His party has asked for testimony from witnesses and secured food evidence that is suspected to be the cause of poisoning.
"We are still carrying out further investigations. Food samples that are suspected to be the cause of poisoning have also been brought for examination", he said.
