Sad News Comes From Riau Islands, A Total Of 10,942 Patients Are COVID-19 Positive
JAKARTA - The Riau Islands Province's COVID-19 Handling Task Force noted that the number of residents in the area infected with COVID-19 increased by 105 to 10,942 people.
Daily Chair of the Riau Islands' COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Tengku Said Arif Fadillah, in Tanjungpinang, Wednesday, explained, the addition of COVID-19 patients in the region occurred in Batam with 65 people, Tanjungpinang 29 people, Bintan two people, Karimun eight people, and Lingga one people.
"Today's Natuna and Anambas Islands have not added any new COVID-19 cases," he said, who is also the Secretary of the Riau Islands.
Arif stated that the total number of COVID-19 patients since the pandemic until now in Riau Islands has reached 10,942 people, spread across Batam as many as 7,155 people, Tanjungpinang 2,059 people, Bintan 910 people, Karimun 477 people, Lingga 67 people, Natuna 113 people, and Anambas with 161 people.
The number of patients who recovered from COVID-19 increased by 43 people to become 9,627 people. A total of 43 patients who recovered, spread across 18 people in Batam, 21 people in Tanjungpinang, and 4 people in Bintan.

While the total number of patients who have recovered since the COVID-19 pandemic in Batam is 6,414 people, Tanjungpinang 1,756 people, Bintan 781 people, Karimun 424 people, Lingga 52 people, Natuna 91 people, and Anambas 109 people.
The number of patients who died was increased to 260 people. The three patients who died were residents of Batam, Bintan, and Lingga.
The total number of patients who died due to COVID-19 in Batam was 161 people, Tanjungpinang 43 people, Bintan 27 people, Karimun 20 people, Lingga four people, Natuna three people, and Anambas is two people.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the Riau Islands has reached 1,055, 580 in Batam, 260 in Tanjungpinang, 102 in Bintan, 33 in Karimun, 11 in Lingga, 19 in Natuna, and 50 in Anambas.
"Bintan, Batam City, and Tanjungpinang were designated as an orange zone or a moderate risk of transmission of COVID-19, while Karimun, Lingga, Natuna, and Anambas were designated as a yellow zone or low risk of transmission," he said.
