Aceh Narcotics Emergency, Police Strictly Watch Shortcut Route Day And Night

JAKARTA - East Aceh Resort Police (Polres) personnel supervise a number of docks and estuaries including a shortcut route along the coast to prevent the entry of drugs into the area.

"All shortcut routes are closely monitored and supervised. Monitoring and surveillance are carried out day and night," said East Aceh Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Eko Widiantoro in East Aceh, as reported by Antara, Monday, April 26.

The shortcut route is the target of police surveillance, namely in Madat District, Simpang Ulim District, Julok District, Nurussalam District.

Then, Darul Aman, Idi Rayeuk, Peudawa, Alue Bu (West Peureulak), Peureulak, and Kuala Parek (East Peureulak) Districts.

"We have also ordered all sector police who have water territories to carry out intensive patrols, day and night," said Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Eko Widiantoro.

Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Eko Widiantoro said that besides preventing the entry of drugs, the supervision also anticipates the smuggling of other goods such as cigarettes, sugar, and onions.

In addition, it also prevents the smuggling of foreign nationals, including the entry of Indonesian citizens from Aceh who have illegally returned from Malaysia by sea.

"We also have the support of the National Army and the public in carrying out these police duties, so that any suspicious movements can be immediately monitored," said Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Eko Widiantoro.

Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Eko Widiantoro also hopes for the participation of fishermen in East Aceh to convey information about what is happening at sea to the authorities, especially when they see suspicious activity.

"Immediately report anything suspicious, especially in the waters. Some disclosures of criminal acts of narcotics abuse from abroad are in the jurisdiction of the East Aceh Police. Narcotics enter by sea," said Police Grand Commissioner Adjutant Eko Widiantoro.
