Symptoms Of Cancer Cloudy, A Threat To Women To Watch Out For
JAKARTA - Cuterine cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the uterus, a female reproductive organ where the fetus develops during pregnancy. This cancer is divided into two main types, namely endometrium cancer and uterine sarcoma.
Reporting from the Cleveland Clinic page, endometrium cancer is a cancer that develops in the inner lining of the (endometrium) uterus. This is the most common type of uterine cancer. Meanwhile, uterine sarcoma is a rarer type of cancer, developing in the muscles or supporting tissue of the uterus (miometry).
The exact cause of uterine cancer is not yet fully known. However, genetic mutations in uterine cells cause uncontrolled cell growth, thus forming a tumor.
Symptoms
Symptoms of uterine cancer can resemble other health problems, so it is necessary to pay attention to the following signs:
- vaginal hemorrhage is abnormal, such as bleeding after menopause or outside the menstrual cycle.
- Pain or cramps at the bottom of the stomach or pelvis.
- Unusual whiteness, especially if it is white or clear after menopause.
- Menstruation that is very heavy, prolonged, or occurs more often in women over 40 years of age.
- Difficulties or pain when urinating.
Risk Factors
Several factors that increase the risk of developing uterine cancer include:
1. Hormone Factor
- Estrogen hormone imbalance and progesteron can increase the growth of abnormal endometrium cells.
- Use of estrogen therapy without progesteron.
- Polyactive ovarian syndrome (PCOS) which causes the production of hormones to be unbalanced.
2. Age and History of Menstruation
- Women over 50 have a higher risk.
- Menstruation starting before the age of 12 years or menopause after the age of 50 increases the risk due to longer exposure to the hormone estrogen.
- Women who have never been pregnant are also at higher risk.
3. Health and lifestyle conditions
- Obesity
Body fat can convert androgen hormones into estrogen, thereby increasing levels of estrogen in the body.
- Diabetes
This disease is often associated with obesity and insulin resistance, which can increase the risk of uterine cancer.
- High diet animal fat
High fatty foods can contribute to obesity and hormonal changes.
4. Family History and Genetic Factors
- Lynch Syndrome
Genetic disorders that increase the risk of colon cancer and uterine cancer.
- Family history with uterine or colorectal cancer.
5. Use of certain drugs
- Tamoxifen
Drugs used to treat breast cancer, but can increase the risk of uterine cancer.

- Radiation therapy to the pelvis
Previous radiation in the pelvic area can damage the DNA of uterine cells and increase the risk of cancer.
