PTPP Completes 83.98 Percent Of South Overlay Runway Work Soekarno-Hatta International Airport

JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) continues to show its commitment to supporting national infrastructure. Currently, the South Overlay Runway project of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has reached 83.98 percent progress, close to the completion stage according to the set schedule.

The project, which has a contract value of IDR 519.19 billion (including VAT), is scheduled to last for 730 calendar days (24 August 2023 22 August 2025). This overlay work aims to increase the carrying capacity of aircraft movement facilities on the south side of the air, which is part of efforts to optimize the operations of the busiest airport in Indonesia.

In this project, PTPP applies MMGPS sensor technology in the first layer of asphalt, which allows the runway surface to be more flat and in accordance with the design. The use of this technology ensures that flight safety and comfort standards are maintained.

Another uniqueness of this project is the implementation method carried out at night, from 22.00 to 06.00, so as not to interfere with airport operations that serve 800 900 flights per day. In addition, the main challenge faced is the weather factor, especially rain, which can affect the schedule and quality of employment in the field.

The Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, previously made several statements regarding the preparation of road and airport infrastructure to support the smooth Lebaran 2025 homecoming. In a cross-sectoral coordination meeting on February 5, 2025, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi emphasized that his party had prepared an operation plan in all modes of transportation, including land and air, to ensure smooth homecoming and return to Lebaran in 2025.

In this case, PTPP is in line with the government's commitment to ensuring the readiness of road and airport infrastructure to support the smooth homecoming of Lebaran 2025 and subsequent years.

PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo emphasized that as a company that has experience in various strategic infrastructure projects, his party is committed to completing this project with high standards, ensuring flight safety, and supporting the smooth operation of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

"With the latest technology and optimal project management, PTPP ensures that this project runs according to target and provides long-term benefits for the national aviation industry," said Joko, in his statement, Wednesday, March 19.
