KITB Oase Fields In The Middle Of Mass Layoff Issues, Absorbs More Than 7,000 Workers In A Short Time
JAKARTA - When many companies face a wave of Termination of Employment (PHK), PT Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KITB) is actually present as a solution by opening up thousands of job opportunities.
Not even one year into operation, KITB has succeeded in absorbing 7,008 workers, with more than 80 percent coming from Batang Regency and its surroundings. This is clear evidence that KITB is committed to supporting regional economic growth and creating an inclusive and sustainable industrial ecosystem.
According to M. Burhan Murtaki, General Manager of Corporate Secretary of PT KITB, this achievement shows that KITB is not only an industrial area, but is also a catalyst for local economic growth.
"We understand that one of the biggest challenges today is limited employment opportunities. Therefore, from the start we were committed to attracting investments that were able to absorb large numbers of workers, especially the Batang community. In the future, we will continue to work with various industrial partners to open up more job opportunities," he said, in a written statement, Monday, March 17.
In February, KITB held a Job Fair which received tremendous enthusiasm from the community, with more than 5,000 prospective workers present. This activity is a bridge for job seekers to meet directly with well-known companies investing in KITB.
Several global companies that have opened up job opportunities at KITB include KCC Glass Indonesia from South Korea, PT Yihquan Footwear Indonesia which produces Hoka and Converse shoes from Taiwan, as well as SUG Solar from the United States. In the future, more and more companies from various countries such as Chile, the Netherlands, China, Japan, and Malaysia will join and open wider job opportunities for the people of Indonesia.
