Bank Syariah Indonesia Records Digital Transaction Volume Translucent To IDR 40.85 Trillion
JAKARTA - The volume of digital channel transactions of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. (BSI) grew significantly during the first quarter of 2021. Its value as of March 2021 has already exceeded IDR 40.85 trillion, with the largest contribution coming from transactions through BSI Mobile services, which rose 82.53 percent on an annual basis (year on year/yoy).
During January-March 2021, the volume of transactions at BSI Mobile reached IDR 17.3 trillion. The accumulated transactions from the platform reached 14.65 million, growing 72.35 percent yoy.
In general, the increase in the volume of transactions through the BSI digital banking channel until March 2021 increased by 43.3% yoy. Apart from being contributed by BSI Mobile transactions (42 percent), this increase was also supported by customer activity on the internet banking channel (24 percent); debit/credit cards (17 percent); and ATMs (14 percent).
This large number emerged, one of which was driven by an increase in customer transactions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The BSI President Director Hery Gunardi said, as a super app, BSI Mobile provides not only banking services or financial transactions but also activities related to customers' daily lifestyles.
"The development of the digital ecosystem of BSI Mobile products and features will continue. In the near future, it is hoped that BSI Mobile can be used by customers and the wider community to access financing", said Hery.
The BSI Mobile presents a number of solutions to make it easier for customers, including the online account opening feature; ease of transactions for customers through transfer features, online shopping, QRIS transactions, credit top ups, buying electricity tokens, e-wallet top ups, and school payments. The BSI Mobile also features BSI Savings E-Mas products and also Gold Pawn Online.

BSI Mobile also provides payment facilities for Zakat, Infaq, Alms, and Waqf (ZISWAF), so it is hoped that BSI Mobile will not only be a financial friend who helps with financial management, but also a social friend who makes it easy to share with others, and spiritual friends who invite customers to improve their spirituality.
In the momentum of this year's Ramadan, The BSI is also socializing the use of QRIS to the public as one of the ZISWAF payment instruments. QRIS recorded the largest increase in transaction volume, amounting to 5182% yoy to IDR 4.7 billion. With this QRIS, it is hoped that it can support the development of the halal ecosystem.
BSI is also actively participating in Islamic financial inclusion in mosques and Islamic boarding schools, one of which is through the inauguration of the QRIS Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) on 22-23 April 2021 at the Minhaajurrosyidiin Islamic Boarding School, Jakarta. On this occasion, BSI distributed KUR worth IDR 1.55 billion.
