PTDI-YPTI Cooperation In Strengthening The National Aircraft Industry Supply Chain
JAKARTA - PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) is collaborating with PT Yogya Presisi Teknikatama Industri (YPTI) which aims to increase competitiveness and strengthen the supply chain of the national aircraft industry.
The collaboration is in the form of increasing productivity and reliability of PTDI's production machines, increasing the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of engine products, both aircraft components and engine parts, and developing aerospace manufacturing industry ecosystems.
The cooperation was outlined in the signing of the framework agreement (FA) which was witnessed by the Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza on Wednesday, March 12.
Faisol said that currently the trend of demand for aircraft components shows positive growth in line with the growing aviation market in Indonesia.
Referring to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest number of passengers growing and is projected to become the fourth largest aviation market in the world in 2036.
Meanwhile, the study of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) 2023 estimates that the number of domestic flights and passengers in Indonesia will increase to 7.6 million flights and 690 million passengers by 2045 or more than three times compared to 2024.
"With this increase in demand, the domestic industry has enormous potential to seize increased opportunities for aircraft components," said Faisol in a written statement, quoted on Thursday, March 13.
He hopes that PTDI can continue to increase its role in encouraging the development of the aircraft industry ecosystem, both the role of the lead integrator in aircraft manufacturing and PTDI as a tier-1 capable of becoming an entrepreneur of other domestic industries while reducing dependence on component imports.

"I give high appreciation to PTDI, PT YPTI for this cooperation initiative and hopefully this step will bring great benefits to the national aerospace industry and the Indonesian economy as a whole," he said.
Meanwhile, PTDI Production Director Dena Hendriana said the cooperation was an important momentum in the development of the national aerospace ecosystem. Given, it will involve more local industry players.
"We are committed to increasing TKDN and optimizing domestic industrial potential. This collaboration will also enrich PTDI's engine capabilities, so that we can continue to improve the quality, competence and diversification of aerospace products," he said.
