Fake Police Perpetrators Of Counterfeit Threats Of Drug Cases In Karo Shot

MEDAN - Karo Resort Police (Polres), North Sumatra, arrested the perpetrators suspected of committing fraud in the area by claiming to be members of the police.

"This case is an alleged extortion of residents at the inn, Kabanjahe District, Karo," said Tanah Karo Police Chief AKBP Eko Yulianto as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 11.

Eko said the perpetrators arrested were a man with the initials RBP (28), (39), YG (37), and R (39), on Monday (10/3), with the mode of being a fake police officer.

The incident began when it started with one of the suspects, namely RBP, who knew the victim GG (24) and invited him to the inn under the pretext of taking methamphetamine and playing online gambling together.

"But, when the victim was in the room, the other three perpetrators PB, YG and R suddenly entered and claimed to be members of the police," said Eko.

After that, the fake policeman ordered the victim to lie down using a softgun. In a threatened situation, the victim did not dare to fight back.

"The perpetrators then confiscated the victim's belongings, including cellphones, wallets, cash and motorbikes," he said.

Not only that, the perpetrators also forced the victim to contact his wife and ask for a ransom of Rp. 15 million so that the victim could be released, but the victim's wife refused the request.

In short, the perpetrator released the victim with threats to immediately hand over the ransom, but the victim's belongings were still confiscated as collateral.

After being released, the victim immediately reported the incident to the Tanah Karo Police. The local police team moved quickly to investigate and arrest the perpetrators.

"When the arrest was made, the perpetrators fought back so they had to be paralyzed with a shot in the leg," he said.

From the results of the examination, he said, the four perpetrators also tested positive for taking drugs.
