320 Vehicles Told To Turn Back To Jabodetabek

JAKARTA - The Bandung Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) overturned 320 vehicles leaving the Cileunyi Toll Gate (GT). This operation was carried out to suppress the flow of Eid Al-Fitr 2021 homecoming.

The head of the Bandung Traffic Police, Kiki Hartaki, Head of the Turjawali Traffic Unit (Satlantas) was dominated by vehicles from the Jabodetabek area.

"The drivers and passengers of the hundreds of vehicles did not carry the results of the COVID-19 rapid test. They also did not want to take the rapid test at the location (checkpoint) so we asked them to turn the vehicle around", said Kiki Hartaki at the Cileunyi Traffic Post, Saturday, 24 April.

Not only turning the vehicle around, Kiki Hartaki said that officers from the Bandung Police also provided on-site rapid test kits for toll road users from outside the area.

Until 12.00 p.m. local time, he said, there were 50 people taking the rapid test. Those who were examined were not exposed to COVID-19.

According to Kiki, the majority of vehicles from outside the area aim to stay in touch with their families in Bandung and some are headed for other areas, such as Garut and Tasik.

"They will stay in touch with their families in the village, including those who visit students studying at Islamic boarding schools", he added.

The pre-homecoming isolation activity, he said, would last until May 5, 2021. He emphasized that residents from outside the area can still pass as long as they carry negative COVID-19 test results.

However, starting May 6, 2021, the partition will be tightened. The guard will also be carried out for a full 24 hours until May 17, 2021.

"This pre-homecoming blocking activity is a socialization for the ban on going home to their hometown from May 6 to May 17, 2021, in accordance with government regulations", he concluded.
