Rosan: Ray Dalio Meets Prabowo Shares Experience Of SWF Forms In Other Countries

JAKARTA - Head of the BPI Implementing Agency (CEO) Danantara Rosan Perkasa Roeslani said US investor Ray Dalio shared his experience in establishing the Sovereign Wealth Fund in other countries, including Temasek in Singapore and PIF in Saudi Arabia.

Ray shared this experience in a meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto with national big entrepreneurs and a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday, March 7.

"He is already involved, being an investor who provides input in many other sovereign funds. He is in Temase, there is a PIF in Saudi Arabia, some are in the UAE and several other countries," said Rosan when giving a press statement at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 8.

Rosan explained that Ray, who was the founder of the Hedge Fund Bridgewater Associates, was involved when a number of countries established state wealth funds or their Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF), such as Temasek in Singapore to PIF in Saudi Arabia.

Ray Dalio provided a number of inputs for Danantara as Indonesia's SWF, which includes investment issues, corporate governance in accordance with the principles of good governance, risk management, and investment commitments.

According to Rosan, input from Ray Dalio is very constructive so that the role of Danantara, as SWF Indonesia, can run according to its mandate.

"Some ministers and also Danantara re-discussed and exchanged ideas with Ray Dalio. The discussions were very, very extraordinary, very, very interesting," said Rosan.

Ray Dalio, which was conveyed through Rosan, emphasized that Danantara is a great work that must be done together between the business world and the government in an open and transparent manner.

The Indonesian government is also open if Ray makes comparisons with SWFs in other countries.

President Prabowo also emphasized that Danantara must be transparent and open, and the most important thing is that investments are carried out with care and have clear returns.
