How To Protect Yourself From Various Disease Attacks In The Flood Season As Now

The emergence of impurities that pollute the environment and water as well as wet and humid conditions can increase the risk of transmission of skin diseases, infectious diseases, and other health problems during floods.

Therefore, doctors recommend residents whose neighborhoods are affected by flooding to maintain personal hygiene in order to avoid attacks of disease.

"Always wash your hands with soap before eating, after using the toilet, and after contact with flood water," said dr. Faisal Parlindungan Sp.PD from the University of Indonesia Hospital as reported by ANTARA.

"If there is no clean water, an alcohol-containing hand sanitizer can be used, although it is ineffective against all types of germs," he added.

Doctor Faisal reminded residents whose neighborhoods were being flooded to ensure that the water to be consumed was clean and used cooked water to drink and cook.

If clean water is difficult to obtain, he said, chlorine tablets can be used for water disinfection.

He said that maintaining clothing hygiene, immediately change clothes if the clothes worn are wet, and using footwear can also reduce the risk of disease disease.

According to him, it is also important to ensure that houses or shelters are clean, the lighting and air circulation are good, and not too humid to prevent respiratory diseases from emergence.

Anti-smooth ions can be used to avoid mosquito bites, which can transmit disease-causing viruses, during floods.

"If itching or injury gets worse and hurts, diarrhea is accompanied by continuous vomiting or the body feels very weak, high fever, skin seeps, or there are other signs of serious infection, don't delay seeking medical help if the condition worsens. The sooner it is treated, the sooner it will recover," said doctor Faisal.

He also stated the need to increase endurance during the rainy season by eating food ingredients for vitamins and minerals and or vitamin and mineral supplements.

For example, vitamin C can be obtained from oranges and guava, vitamin D from fish, as well as zinc from meat and nuts.

The supplement of complex vitamin B and vitamin E can be consumed to help increase the body's resistance to infection.
